Sheriff

Sheriff is a mini donkey who arrived with his best friend Marshall in December 2020. Originally owned by a family in the Hudson Valley, Sheriff was in need of surgery but the family didn’t want to pay for it and decided to put him down instead. A wildlife rehabilitator heard about the situation and contacted a local sanctuary, who offered to take Sheriff and pay for his surgery. The family agreed and that’s how Sheriff came to live with Marshall. A change at the sanctuary led to Sheriff and Marshall finding a new home here at The Lily Pond. Sheriff is a bit shy around humans, but if you’ve earned his trust, he will bray a loud “hee-haaw” hello and allow you to rub his long, fuzzy ears.
