Q. Is The Lily Pond an animal rescue organization that accepts surrendered pets and places animals up for adoption?
A. The Lily Pond is an animal sanctuary that provides quality lifetime care to the rescued cats, dogs, horses, and parrots that live here. We work with reputable animal rescues and veterinarians to take in at-risk animals that are considered difficult to adopt due to old age, disabilities, medical issues, or personality traits. We do not accept surrendered pets from the public nor do we adopt out any animals.
Q. What kind of animals do you help? Do you work in wildlife rehabilitation?
A. The Lily Pond provides a forever home for cats, dogs, horses, and parrots in need. We focus exclusively on these four species of companion animals. We are not certified to provide wildlife rehabilitation.
Q. Do you take in cats with FIV or Feline Leukemia?
A. Unfortunately, we cannot accept cats with FIV or leukemia at this time. The Lily Pond provides a communal, home like setting and we do not currently have a separate space for these special cats. We hope to someday!
Q. Is The Lily Pond Sanctuary open to the public?
A. The Lily Pond is not open to the public but we are happy to welcome visitors by appointment. We do offer several options to give people the opportunity to spend time enjoying our beautiful natural setting and interacting with the animals.
- Sanctuary Tours: We offer tours of the sanctuary on Sundays by appointment. This is an opportunity to meet all the animals – they love to make new friends! We respectfully request a donation of $25 per person for a guided tour, which will typically last an hour.
- Workshops & Events: The Lily Pond offers public events and workshops throughout the year. We host an annual Earth Day Celebration, which is a wonderful way to meet the animals, welcome Spring, and support the sanctuary! Our workshops cover various topics related to animals, nature, and grief support for the loss of a pet. Check out our Events section of the website for information and come join the fun, meet the animals, and support a great cause!
- Weddings: The Lily Pond Sanctuary is available to rent for weddings and organized events. We have three gorgeous ponds and beautiful views. Our weddings are pet friendly! Contact us for information on pricing and availability.
Q. Are my donations tax deductible?
A. Yes. The Lily Pond Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) registered charitable organization and all donations are fully tax deductible to the extent of the law. Donations go directly toward the care and feeding of our animals and are greatly appreciated!
Q. What is your Tax ID Number?
A. The Lily Pond Sanctuary’s EIN Number is 37-1932175.
