Dutch Treat, a horse a Lily Pond Animal Sanctuary

Dutch Treat

Dutch is a registered Appendix (Thoroughbred-Quarter Horse) Paint whose sire is Chief Wish You Would and his dam is Chocolate Reveille. Foaled in 2003, his official name was Intentional Secret until he was adopted at age two and spent many happy years with his previous owner competing in Hunter and Dressage. In 2018, he contracted Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis (EPM), a debilitating disease that attacks the central nervous system. His previous owner began aggressive treatment right away and Dutch made an excellent recovery. However, he is not always steady on his feet and the other horses at his previous home began to bully him. The Lily Pond agreed to offer Dutch Treat a retirement home with a flat paddock. He loves to graze the green grass and has become good friends with our other horses Moon, Zoom, and Marshall.
