Blitz was a senior white Shepherd who had been dumped at a high-kill shelter in Pennsylvania. A rescue organization pulled him and put him into foster care. We agreed to adopt him upon completing the purchase of the sanctuary property in 2015. In the meantime, we sponsored him by covering all his expenses and visiting him at his foster home. He was a very sweet dog with such a winning smile.
In July of 2015, we received a heartbreaking call from his foster mom letting us know that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer. He passed peacefully on his own less than two weeks later. Even though Blitz never made it to sanctuary, he was still a beloved member of The Lily Pond family.
