Sleek Bagheera once belonged to a university student in Massachusetts who moved out and left her behind. His roommates put her up for adoption and we agreed to take her in. She arrived in October 2016 as a ferocious panther, inflicting bite wounds on all who came too close. She had licked all the fur from her back legs and tail due to the stress of the abandonment. Happily, it grew back once she settled in and knew she was safe, revealing a gorgeous fluffy tail.
Now much gentler, Bagheera knows her name and likes to help with chores, hopping up on shoulders to lend her support as we scrub and clean. We call her the “Leaning Tower of Bagheera” because she stands up and leans way in to pets and cuddles.
